Rope – How To Tie – A Simple “Hands Behind Head” Harness
This is the tie we used in the Clothespins Video from yesterday.

Starts with a “Double Column Tie” on the wrists.

The rope I’m using is 30 ft of Jute. Fold it in half and hold the center loop, which is called the “bight”.

See Video for Types of Rope to tie up your love for more info

Always check for twists and check to make sure the rope is not too tight or cutting off blood circulation before continuing.

Check-in with your partner before continuing. “is this too tight?”

Hands go over and then behind the head.

Working end goes straight down the back to smallest part of the waist and turns 90 degrees by using your finger as a pivot to let it turn. Working end goes around the smallest part of the waist, clockwise, under the breasts, and back to where your finger created the pivot.

Replace finger with working end by passing rope around the center line on the back. Now the rope creates the pivot and holds the 90 degree angle in place.

Bring the working end back in the direction you just came from, passing around the front, counter-clockwise, and following the existing rope around the smallest part of the waist and under the breasts. Return to, and loop around the on the back a second time.

Bring the working end diagonally up an pass around the front, clockwise, above the breasts, and back to the center line on the back again. Pass behind the center line on the back and tie off. The tie is done, now just deal with the excess rope.

“use up” or “run out” the extra rope:
1. you can make a counter clockwise pass around to the front and above the breasts a second time to use up some rope.
2. You can run the rope upwards to the hands and loop back around and down to tie off anywhere.
3. you can wrap the rope around and around existing lines until there isn’t any left.

After “using up” the excess rope. “tuck away” the ends to make the harness look clean.

All done.

Warning: Don’t keep her standing too long with her arms over her head. Her hands/arms will fall asleep because they are above her heart. If you lay her down horizontally, this will no longer be a worry.
