Rope How To – Single Column Tie

This is a foundation tie. Many harnesses will start this tie.

Bight goes “over everything” and then “under everything”
Check in with partner for tightness as this sinches down.

Fold working end in to great a loop with working end running between the bight and loop.
Pass bight through loop.
Pull tight.
Tail on bight should be a couple inches or more.
Untie by pulling the knot and breaking the knot to pull the bight back through.
